Barbara Hamilton Davis died on Tuesday, October 28, 2009 at the Hospice of Savannah due to complications of pneumonia.

Barbara Davis was born in Pooler, GA. Though her family briefly resided in Orlando, FL, she lived most of her life in the Savannah area. She lived at the Landings on Skidaway Island for over 30 years. She was a docent at the Green-Meldrim house for many years. She was an accomplished portrait and still life artist, and a member of the Landings Art Association. She was an active member of the Garden Club of Savannah where she became known for her beautiful flower arrangements and her tireless drive for perfection in all she did. In addition to her contributions to numerous Garden Club projects, her considerable artistic talents were used within the Flower Guild and the Memorial Garden at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. In recent times, she volunteered her time and talents at Memorial Hospital making flower arrangements for the gift shop.

Barbara Davis is the mother of Mary Ann Johnson and her husband Charlie of Louisville, Kentucky, Barbara Mason and her husband Frank of Savannah, Rose Ann Randolph and her husband Dave of Savannah, Ray "Chubb" Keyes and his wife Jeanette of San Diego, California, and Joe Davis and his wife Rita of McLean, Virginia. She is sister to George Hamilton of Savannah. She is the grandmother of Mark Johnson and his wife Amy, Trip Kennickell and his wife Ali, Jason Kennickell and his wife Maria, and Julie and Jody Davis. She is the great grandmother of Abigail and Cole Johnson, and Sophia Kennickell. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Joseph C. Davis, her sister Rose Ann Keyes, and her brothers Bob, Phillips, and Arthur Hamilton.

Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday night, October 30 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral service is at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. Burial will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
